Jasmine Crowe (Vocals/Violin/Keys/Guitar/Songwriter/Producer)
Josh Anderson (Drummer/Songwriter/Arranger)
Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i, Jasmine Crowe grew up in a musical family. Her father being an astrophysicist observing the universe through the telescopes on Mauna Kea, was also a gifted concert pianist who had attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada.
Following in his musical footsteps, starting out as a classical violinist at age 3, Jasmine also had a natural talent for singing at 5. Influenced by pop music, broadway musicals, orchestral arrangements, and classic rock, she wrote her first song at 14. When she wasn't performing in local musicals or the university orchestra, she was also jamming in rock bands with her fiddle. Having a voice of her own, she picked up the guitar at age 15 and also began songwriting on piano. With a keen desire to move forward with her music, by age 16 Jasmine was already learning the ropes of recording and music production with Protools.
Touring the islands of Hawai’i and O'ahu, the only element missing was the backbeat. In the process of auditioning musicians for her live shows, Jasmine met Josh who had been playing drums in hard rock bands with his brother Adam on bass. Writing songs and looking for a project to get behind, the musical chemistry between them was instant! Having a natural gift for arrangement and composition, Josh's Bonham-influenced feel for drums combined with Jasmine's mesmerizing voice, recording experience and use of strings has developed her sound into a heavier, majestic backdrop for their “hard pop" songs.
Making the leap across the pond from Hawai'i, the songwriting team now resides in California where they are currently writing and producing in the studio with an upcoming LP release and west coast tour.
Having fast success, Jasmine's first self-produced single "Supernova" has been heard on radio stations worldwide from Hawaii to LA to the UK! Inspired by and in dedication to her late father, all proceeds generated from the song will benefit recipients of the Dr. Richard A. Crowe Memorial Scholarship in Astronomy at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
In February 2015, Jasmine's following single "Phoenix Rising" premiered on WLOY Loyola radio at the University in Maryland as well as the Top 20 Countdown radio show hosted by grammy nominated Al Walser in Los Angeles. Inspired by the cause 1 in 4, the song was originally written for the documentary "The Hunting Ground" to bring support and awareness to victims of sexual assault.
In March 2015 Jasmine was named SingerUniverse Magazine's "Best Vocalist of the Month" and was a finalist in the 2015 American Songwriting Awards for her performance on her song SUPERNOVA. She has been featured in the May 2015 issue of Music Connection magazine and was also a finalist in the 20th Annual USA Songwriting Competition, winning 2nd place for lyrics. In March 2016 she was the TAXI Music featured artist and was also invited to play at SXSW in Austin TX for the USA Songwriting Contest showcase. In 2016 Jasmine and songwriting partner Josh won the pop category of the UK Songwriting Contest for their song LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE. Hit songwriter judge Shelly Peiken described the song as "Superb! Professional. Cuttable!...My fave is "Lightning" - I love how the hook is created via phrasing of just the one simple line." In 2017, the songwriting duo also won 1st place a second time with their song "Still Feel You" in the Love Songs category. They triumphed with 11 finalist placements that year. Jasmine has also been a finalist in the Great American Song Contest and a semi-finalist in the Unsigned Only and International Songwriting Competitions.
